Wearable computing expert now Apple "prototype scientist"

Apple has hired an expert in “human-computer interaction for mobile applications” to complement its research and development in mobile computing, according to a new report from Computerworld. Richard DeVaul, known for his work in the field of “wearable computing,” is Apple’s newest senior prototype scientist.

We actually got to play with the iPhone-controlled Parrot AR.Drone quadricopter back at Macworld a little while ago, but we didn’t get a chance to see the “AR” part of it (augmented reality, of course) until GDC last week. NY Times details Google/Apple relationship souring

What began as a jovial relationship between Google and Apple has devolved into an ugly personal and legal battle that’s only getting worse.

In 2006, Google CEO Dr. Eric Schmidt joined Apple’s board of directors. Google and Apple collaborated on the iPhone’s mapping services, and a year later, Schmidt joined Jobs on stage during the iPhone’s introduction at Macworld Expo. First Look: Seesmic’s Upcoming Windows Phone 7 Twitter App [PICS]

Seesmic became the first to reveal a Twitter client for Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system at MIX today.

NPD: Mac sales up 39 percent in January and Febuary as iPod sales rebound

Well, it looks like it’s not just iPad pre-orders that are possibly be beating a few expectations — according to NPD, sales of Macs and iPods were also up over some estimates in January and February. Song Downloads Coming to Next Version of Rhapsody

Real Networks’ Rhapsody To Go subscription includes a mobile app that lets you stream music (it has some nine million tracks in its library) directly from your iPhone, for a $14.99 monthly fee.
