Windows Marketplace for Mobile open to all 6.x users

At this year’s Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft announced that Windows Marketplace for Mobile will support Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 by the end of 2009 (Windows Mobile 6.5 support will be immediately available). This move is a significant one because it will allow developers to push applications to existing Windows Mobile customers, of which Microsoft estimates there are about 30 million. Furthermore, Windows Marketplace for Mobile will begin accepting mobile application submissions on July 27 (less than two weeks away) and will begin testing and certifying the third-party apps soon after.
